The original Arkansas Outdoor Expo press release mentioned our friend, and envisioneer, Stephanie Stipins who is as much of what this event is to be, as it is the spirit of what it is to become in the following years.
Stipins was a formidable force to be reckoned with on all levels. She knew what she wanted, and clearly seen the path to obtain it, in a way that benefitted others. It was ONLY personal if she had her name involved, and certainly not for the glamour or recognition.
When she first mentioned creating an event focused on the many outdoor activities she enjoyed, (formerly known as the River Valley Adventure Expo) she already knew what the event looked like from all perspectives. It was uncanny how she was able to envision all the elements coming together as one for the common purpose of those who shared the same passions.
Although RVAE showed tremendous promise, and was ultimately denied a second year, we hope that our work, and efforts throughout #AOE26 illustrates a strong presence of her thoughts and vision for the Fort Smith based attraction.
We believe Stephanie would be proud of the work that our team is putting in to make the 2026 Arkansas Outdoor Expo far more than she could have ever imagined.
I owe her that. And, she rightly deserves the acknowledgment not just in the capacity as missing a dear friend, but as the one who previously took this as a personal mission to breathe life into something that was once a yearly calendar date.
It’s our stance to ensure that you know where our hearts are with this event, and to ensure that she is remembered.
